I bought this neat little knitting tool and want to tell you about it. It's a yardage counter by: Boye products. Available at Amazon, or JoAnn Fabrics, or probably at most yarn shops. Why is this little tool that you can carry in your knitting bag so handy? Let's say that you have a pattern that requires 200 yds. and you want to use some yarn that you have in your yarn stash and are not sure you have enough yardage for the project. This is where this little tool comes in handy-dandy. Just place the end of your yarn into the slot, pull up the handle, push the little button to reset the counter to zero and then just start pulling the yarn through. As your pulling the yarn through you will read the yardage from right to left. Now you will know if you have enough yardage for a project. It also works in a different way in that, if your planning to design and knit a scarf per se, and you need to record how much yarn is required for your scarf, run your yarn through the yardage counter while your knitting, and when your finished with your scarf you will know exactly how much yardage it took to knit your scarf....Wha-La!
So what does this little handy-dandy tool cost? JoAnn's-$19 but with 50% off coupon only $10. I had a coupon so I paid $10 for it. Amazon has it for $14.
